Studio 19 WoodWorks
Where Experience + Inspiration Fuel Creation
In Studio 19, artisan Alexander Barreto has established an intimate Brooklyn workshop where clients freely explore their concepts for commissioned pieces. Some come in armed with pictures ripped from architectural magazines or downloaded from design sites. “This is room divider! Only wider but not so high. In a much lighter wood. And a glass door.” We get it. Other people visit knowing only they want a fabulous showcase for a treasured vinyl collection with a place for a vintage turntable and amp. Materials? Measurements? Hmmm. We get that, too.
In close collaboration, we determine the aesthetic and functional intentions. We consider the nature of the space and home in on the size, shape, wood type, and hardware to complement, blend with or offset the existing interior.

We know that quality custom furniture is an investment. We respect that. So a lot of thought goes into each piece. We work with clients to make sure we’ve nailed every detail from wood types—and there are hundreds, to joinery, hardware and finishing before we even think about the first cut. We take what can feel overwhelming and make it easy, even fun. Whether or not you know exactly what you want we can help you sort through the options and arrive at a design that turns your space into a reflection of you.
